Definitely the most auto-biographical page so far. Even though he’s the least seen of the main characters in this issue, you’re likely to see a lot of different sides to him. Of course some of it doesn’t apply because it takes place in an alternate universe, but you’d be surprised how much of it still does.
I like the colors in this one a lot. The soft pastel gives the page a loved childhood memory feel, which seems to be what you’re evoking here. You’ve already got a talent for strong colors, so it’s cool to see you do something a bit out of the ordinary. And for whatever reason the tattoo on papaw’s arm draws me in as detail, probably because I’ve seen so many men his age sporting the eagle.
Jayce could make a recognizable Superman out of Play-Dough? Kid has a lot more capabilities then I ever had. Never did progress beyond making brightly colored worms.
