A sketch from the early days of “Radicals” development. The main cast was still in flux and Ian proposed the idea of a sort of technological savant codenamed: Magpie(who is also a kleptomaniac who hordes scrap to build out of). This is the sketch I came up with, sort of a combination of Karen and another character who may be turning up soon Miranda. Ian wanted to make her a brunette, but I felt it would have been more interesting to make her blonde. Eventually I decided to leave Patrick as the teams tech-head and split Maggie back into Karen and Miranda, as I already have a lot tied up in them as far as backstory.
There’s a lot to like about this character. The look is awesome cool…the child of The Doctor and Velma I would suppose…and the concept of a klepto techie catches my attention. Maybe she could have a cameo, Patrick’s competition in a science fair of sorts.
