Chuck has almost filled his “make an ass of himself” quota for this issue.
This was probably the funnest page to write and draw so far, because of Hailey’s reactions to each Chuck’s actions/words. Anyone who knows Berta (on whom Hailey is based) could see her reacting exactly the same way. This has to be THE single page where her personality shows through the most.
Please take the time to Vote for the Radicals:

You have a way for drawin’ the fine ladies!
I think I’ve found a new best friend! LOL I appreciate it! The ladies happen to be my favorite thing to draw and what I feel like I’m best at. I drew them skinny for a long time, not because that’s my preference, but because the girls the characters were based on kept saying “Why do you draw me so fat?” So I kept whittling away at them until they were practically toothpicks and the girls were happy. Now days I tend to steer clear of basing new characters on girls I know because of their reaction to how I depict them. To a lot of girls CURVY = FAT.
But as you can see by this picture of my fiancee Roberta (the real Hailey) that I like my girls curvy. (Sorry, can’t resist the urge to show her off.)
I’ll take curvy over bone thin any day. You’re a lucky man! Back when I used to hand-draw my comics, I tended to draw women with curves, and was often told by readers I was making them uncomfortably attracted to cartoon characters. I imagine you might have experienced the same.
BTW, if you haven’t already, you can check out a gallery of old Pin-Up incentive wallpapers I did a few years ago at DeviantArt here.
This is very funny with some great art. Keep up the good work.
