Ahh!! Here we are at the beginning with what I’ve felt for a long time is a pretty half-assed cover. Oh well. It was still one of my best cover attempts up to that time.

My first page! Drawn about six months before the rest of this issue… and I think it shows. Not quite as refined, a little chunky line-wise. I did a lot of changes as to how I actually do the book between these first few pages and and the rest of the issue. I started working twice as big as the finished, printed product to squeeze in more detail and also working on Bristol instead of regular typing paper.
Time to hurry and name-drop the rest of the main cast real quick! This scene was actually recycled from a previous generation of The Radicals even though it’s newly drawn. This picture of Hailey was first done as a promo for an early draft of “The Radicals” called “The Challengers”.
Chuck’s clubhouse is actually modelled after my childhood best friend’s clubhouse . His grandfather who was a retired engineer or something built it for him.
