Zing!! And there it is… Like every big sci-fi franchise, the Destiny Helix Universe has a Dark/Mirror Universe. Not that everyone’s the exact polar opposite of their Prime Universe counterpart. Not that the Destiny Helix Universe is even necessarily my multiverse’s “Prime” universe. I’m really enjoying doing this issue so far. I’m up to page 20 on the Pencils and without getting too spoiler-rific, one of the things I’m really enjoying is drawing everyone in more “costume-y” outfits as opposed to the color-coded civilian wear I’ve been sticking with in the main universe.

The diverging point between the regular Destiny Helix Universe and the Dark Universe is revealed. Although the “why” of it is still quite a ways from being explained. Drawing the evil versions of people is much more fun especially Hailey and Angelique.
Heroes are gonna be all heroic… since they don’t have much choice anyway. I kinda get impression from the poses in the first panel that Hailey’s sword just came out of… or is about to go into… Evan’s ass. Not really what I intended but it amuses me endlessly now.
Meanwhile, in the parallel universe of evil…

When I was working on this page, I had Berta help me determine what sound getting hit in the head with an aluminum baseball bat would make. She would make a great forensic onomatopoeianist! This may or may not kill someone in real life, but Dark Universe Lee is entirely at the mercy of my inspiration to use him for future stories.
