Heroes are gonna be all heroic… since they don’t have much choice anyway. I kinda get impression from the poses in the first panel that Hailey’s sword just came out of… or is about to go into… Evan’s ass. Not really what I intended but it amuses me endlessly now.

Chuck has almost filled his “make an ass of himself” quota for this issue.
This was probably the funnest page to write and draw so far, because of Hailey’s reactions to each Chuck’s actions/words. Anyone who knows Berta (on whom Hailey is based) could see her reacting exactly the same way. This has to be THE single page where her personality shows through the most.

What?!? Two pages in one week?!? Yeah, I know, seriously! I got a little ahead, but not enough to get an extra one done last week. I tried some experiment-y stuff on this page. The jungle background is actually a pencil drawing that I colored in Photoshop, blurred the color layer and knocked the saturation down on the color to give it a slight watercolor look. In hindsight, it probably would have been easier to do a real watercolor, but my work space is so cluttered right now that’s not so much an option.
